After a leaky gas line halted last week’s launch, the space shuttle Discovery lifted off today without a problem.

The shuttle launched from the Kennedy Space Center at Cape Canaveral, Florida, around 7:43 p.m. EDT this afternoon, reaching orbit on NASA’s 125th space shuttle mission.

According to CNN, Discovery’s mission is to deliver needed supplies to the International Space Station for a future crew expansion of six people. The crew is led by commander Lee Archambault.

Last week, the shuttle had a hydrogen vent line that was leaking. The line diverts hydrogen away from the launch pad during takeoff. Before, Discovery scrubbed its previous launch date of Feb. 12 because of problematic fuel control valves in the shuttle’s main engines.

Hope Discovery can carry out its mission without further setbacks. ^^;;
